Front end

Category Blog must have pagination links enabled

How it behaves

No custom article query and no parallel renderer
Scripts inside fetched HTML are stripped and not executed
Same-origin GET with credentials, so ACL and language stay Joomla’s job
Hybrid mode keeps the footer reachable on very large categories

News and blog category pages that currently paginate
Association or council sites with long article archives

Install, configure & use

WM LazyLoad is a free Joomla 6.1 system plugin that progressively loads further articles on Category Blog views. The first page is still Joomla’s normal blog. Extra pages are fetched from Joomla’s own pagination URLs.

Requirements

Joomla 6.1 or later
PHP 8.3 or newer
No Behaviour - Backward Compatibility plugin required

Install

Download plg_system_wmlazyload-1.0.0.zip from this page.
In Joomla: System → Install → Extensions → Upload Package File.
Select the zip and install.
Enable System - wmLazyLoad (plugins install unpublished).

Quick start

Open System → Manage → Plugins → System - wmLazyLoad.
Choose Automatic, Load more, or Hybrid.
Confirm the Category Blog menu item has pagination enabled.
(Optional) Limit to selected menu items or categories.

More detail

The plugin does nothing until it is enabled. If Joomla does not render a Next URL, lazy loading will not start — it will not reconstruct the next page. After install, clear Joomla cache if styles do not appear immediately.
